The Sound Behind the Words
Finding the invisible door in every sentence
“I feel so sentenced by your words
I feel so judged and sent away Before I go I’ve got to know
Is that what you meant to say?”
— Ruth Bebermeyer, Words Are Windows (or They're Walls)

Some words open us.
Some words shut us down.
Not just the meaning — but the way they arrive, the tone they carry, the silence they follow.
We often forget that words are not just tools.
They are vessels.
They carry our intention, our history, our fear, our longing, our love — even when we don’t realize it.
A soft word, honestly spoken, can become a doorway.
A harsh word, even if “true,” can become a wall.
We all carry the memory of words that shaped us —
Words that made us feel seen, and words that made us hide.
Words that gave us space to breathe, and words that silenced something inside us.
I’ve come to believe this:
It’s not just what we say that matters.
It’s the vibration we move through when we speak.
Some sounds hold light.
Some carry shadow.
And most of us are still healing from the shadows that came wrapped in words.
So today, I’m listening a little more closely —
Not just to what people say,
But to what lives behind their words.
The breath.
The wound.
The wish to be understood.
Because in every sentence, there’s an invisible door.
And sometimes, opening it doesn’t need the perfect phrase —
Just presence.
Just care.
Just the courage to mean what we say, and to say it gently.

🌿 What do your words carry today?
🌬️ What do you wish someone would say to you — softly, without armor?
If this touched something in you, I’m here —
Writing from the quiet. Listening between the lines.
You’re welcome to pause here with me.
To breathe. To feel. To speak.
With light,
Miracle
If this felt like light, and you’d like to support more of it,here’s a small open window:
